Abri & The Everlasting is a genre-fluid collective that bridges the sounds of East Africa, the Middle East, and global groove culture. While the project sprouted in the cosmopolitan hub of the UAE, its spiritual and rhythmic heartbeat belongs to Zanzibar.

The band is fronted by Hamdan Al Abri, an acclaimed Emirati vocalist whose deep musical lineage is rooted directly in the soil of Zanzibar. His father was a prominent figure in the iconic 1950s and 60s East African Taarab music scene — a rich, orchestral genre blending Arabic origins, Egyptian classical influences, Bollywood textures, and distinct African rhythms. Growing up singing backing vocals for his father during childhood summers spent on the island, Hamdan absorbed this cross-cultural sonic DNA, which has heavily influenced him as an Artist.

In the core 4 piece formation Abri is backed by a highly international powerhouse of musicians — featuring Ratish Chadha (Drums/India), Jerome Deligero (Guitar/Philippines), and Steven Bedford (Bass/UK) — the four-piece masterfully fuses Soul, Funk, Roots Reggae, Jazz, and Afrobeat into a raw, 100% live musical expression.

Having shared global stages with icons like Herbie Hancock, Kamasi Washington, and Ziggy Marley, the band has just launched their debut album, “The Healing.” A timely record built on a foundation of love, organic grooves, and universal connection.
